Bio

Brent Hamilton is originally from Owen Sound, Ontario. Brent graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa in 1996 with a B.A. in History. Brent's last year of study was conducted at the University of Victoria, BC where a strong bond with nature and passion for the environment fully developed. A desire to learn more about composting led to enrollment in a two year Diploma program at Olds College in Alberta.

Upon completion of a Diploma in Compost Technologies in 2000, Brent began working for an Environmental Services company and specialized in the treatment of hydrocarbon contaminated soils.

Past experience includes....

 

Consultant - City of Edmonton

Daily consultation on compost cure site operations, product sampling and testing, quality control, reporting, marketing and sales.

Responsible for implementation and monitoring of an upgraded turning procedure using contracting services with both New Frontier and Scarab window turners.

 

Compost Sales & Marketing

2005 was a very successful year for Inglis Environmental. The growth in absorbent sales lead the way to a 10,500 tonne sales year!

Growth continued in 2006 for Inglis Environmental building on successfully established client relationships and expanding markets.  The result was a banner year in compost sales of 19,000 tonnes.

Another significant break-through included sales to emerging markets of Erosion and Sediment Control. Compost products for this market include course size compost for slope control, providing a medium for plant and grass growth, landscaping detail work, filter sock media, berms and many other applications.

 

City of Calgary Leaf & Yard Waste Composting Program

Operations and equipment services subcontracting for this windrow based composting program.

 

Master Composter Program

Graduated from the City of Edmonton's Master Composter/Recycler Program in 2004.

 

Biosolids Composting

Facility operations at the Canmore Wastewater Treatment Plant, Canmore, Alberta.

 

Campus Composting Program

Development and implementation of a campus food waste collection and composting program at Olds College.

 

Vermicomposting

Large scale and research based vermicompost operation in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

 

Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soil Remediation

Past experience in remediating H/C contaminated soils using compost as an ammendment for microbil growth stimulation. Remediated over 200,000 tonnes of soil at facilities in Edmonton and Calgary.
